JW internal warfare threatens the Tract campaign
by Quarterback ini overheard this argument re the new tract campaign.
one elder told a publisher, to hide the tract in the mailbox if the home owner wasn't home.
the publisher was used to folding the tip of the tract, and just left a tip showing.

Someone should leave a tip with the FBI. I was so young, about 4 or 5, when I went in field service. When no one was home, I thought it was a good idea to stick an Awake! mag in the mailbox. My mom gave me such an instructive lecture. She knew Witnesses who had to deal with the FBI.

aI don't know why you posted the document. It might help to have a summary section. I am presented with forms that state that I received and read another document. The administrator is always shocked that I refuse to sign such a statement. I can't add language to the original document stating that I refused to sign b/c I did not receive the second document. No one should be signing these forms.
There may be legitimate reasons. I fail to see what evil the JW elder did.

My wife sees the lack of love and.. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
by BU2B inin the past few weeks, my wife has been seeing more and more the lack of love and caring from jws.
for example, she is organizing a "princess party" for our 4 year old daughter.
a couple of the parents have expressed reservations about this since they think princesses may be "too magical" even though we know they have been to disneyworld, and watch the disney channel.

Lack of love was the very first thing I noticed. The whole family were Witnesses. I'd go runnng into to play and show off my doll. They were in tears about some incident in the KH.

Could it be that Jehovah is punishing me for leaving his religion?
by Julia Orwell ini know it's a completely absurd thing to say, but something happened to me today that triggered the old cult reaction.
my mind instantly lapsed back into that of a jw and for a split second i thought that because i wasn't doing jehovah things that jehovah's blessing had been removed from me and this is why my life seems to be running into so many dead-ends.
as a jw i attributed anything good happening to me to being the result of my being a good jw and dutifully doing everything the borg teaches.

Perhaps you will be the heroine of the story where someone has transient thoughts of WT teaching but goes on and conquers the world. Your post helped mea lot. If anything is not perfect in my life, I conclude that the Witnesses are at work. If I had no education, I would do well. Although I do not believe it rationally, I was exposed to Witness think since I was born. In fact, when my facial pain was so bad that doctors told my mom I would kill myself to get relief, I used to get impulses to sneak out of my apartment, take a subway at 3 am and apppear at Bethel. I would renounce everything dear to meand Bethel would remove the pain. My mom cried all over the place. I thought how silly I would feel when there was no difference in my pain. One can know something does not make sense and still feel it. Part of me was scared of what I would do at Bethel.
Everyone who has success also had moments of failure. You don't have to land every job just the one you like. I know when I typed that I would type and think of everything morbid under the sun.
In practical terms, I highly recommend What Color Is Your Parachute? I was not taught a single thing about looking for jobs after college. There was a mass meeting at the college. A former student blamed it on the college. 95% of the students stood up and applauded. It helps if you view yourself as at least equal to the human resources person. We come from a religion that knows no praise. No matter what you do, they will demand more. A tad amount of arrogance is a good thing.

please post whether you found jwn during an internet search or if someone told you about it.. i myself was directed here by a df'd family member once i shared my doubts with that person..

Playing the dating Game..............how do you play?

i have met a few nice guys but remained strictly platonic, and also met some really pushy guys too that just wanted sex.. i have not met mr right yet, but who knows what the platonic guys could evolve into.. it's all a game and anyone who says they don't play games when dating is lying.

I admire women who are able to make the first move. It appears to be generational. When I was younger, I felt stripped of power. Now I talk with male friends and I realize how difficult it is to make the first move. If someone my age ever made the first move, it would be the last move. Men did not like it. The old rules seem so silly.
